On Friday 9th February, Stroud Women finished the first Gloucester Indoor Softball League undefeated, winning 4 games from 4.
The final game against a Frampton side that also held 2 borrowed Stroud players, saw Stroud win by 38 runs with some impressive cricket played by all.
If you’re interested in joining a relaxed and fun team with a great team spirit, please contact Kat Sutton via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) as we look to expand the squad heading into a summer of softball festivals.
On Friday 12th January, Stroud Women took on Newent in their first ever Softball League fixture, winning a evenly matched game by just 9 runs. Stroud lost the toss and were put in to bat first, setting a brilliant 300 with runs contributed to by everyone due to some fantastic boundaries and daring running between the wickets.
Some great bowling and fielding then limited Newent to 291 in their innings rounding off a fantastic performance from everyone in a very cold Bentham Dome. If anyone is interested in joining the newly formed Stroud Women’s section, please email Kat Sutton (email@example.com).
